Sydney Sweeney's Bathwater Soap: A Wild Marketing Stunt That's Actually Genius

Hollywood star Sydney Sweeney is taking fan interaction to a whole new level with her latest collaboration with Dr. Squatch soap. In a move that’s equal parts bizarre and brilliant, Sweeney is releasing a limited-edition soap bar literally made with drops of her own bathwater.

The “Sydney’s Bathwater Bliss” soap is more than just a quirky marketing gimmick. Only 5,000 bars will be produced, with 100 bars being given away through a special Instagram and website contest. Priced at $8 per bar, the soap is crafted with pine bark extract, exfoliating sand, and yes – actual bathwater from the “Euphoria” actress.

Sweeney’s Pacific Northwest roots inspired the soap’s unique scent profile, which combines pine, Douglas fir, and earthy moss. The actress herself sees this as a playful way to connect with her audience. “When your fans start asking for your bathwater, you can either ignore it, or turn it into a bar of soap,” she told GQ.

Dr. Squatch’s marketing team is leaning into the weirdness, describing the product as “a perfect combination of the two best places on the planet: The outdoors and Sydney Sweeney’s bathtub”. John Ludeke, the company’s senior vice president of global marketing, admitted there’s “no playbook” for turning bathwater into soap – which is precisely why they did it.

Beyond the shock value, Sweeney hopes the product encourages fans to take better care of themselves. “I was like, ‘This is just such a cool way to have a conversation with the audience and give them what they want,’” she explained.
