Stephen Curry once again proved why he’s a living NBA legend, scoring a jaw-dropping 49 points to lead the Golden State Warriors to a nail-biting 109-108 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Cup.

In a game that showcased Curry’s unparalleled scoring prowess, he single-handedly dragged the Warriors back from a 10-point deficit in the final minutes, demonstrating why he remains one of the most electrifying players in basketball. His performance was nothing short of spectacular, shooting an incredible 16-of-26 from the field, including 9-of-17 from beyond the arc.

The Warriors were struggling early, shooting a dismal 28 percent in the first quarter, but Curry’s heroics transformed the game’s momentum. He scored 31 points in the second half alone, including a crucial 14-consecutive point run that closed the third quarter and a decisive 10-point streak in the fourth quarter that sealed the win.

This victory is particularly significant as it ties Curry with Michael Jordan for the most 40-point games after turning 30 - a testament to his sustained excellence and continued dominance in the league. It also marks the first time since November 2022 that he’s posted back-to-back 40-point performances.

While Curry was the undisputed star, teammates Jimmy Butler, Will Richard, and Brandin Podziemski contributed solid supporting performances. The Warriors’ bench, which has been struggling recently, showed signs of life with Gary Payton II and Podziemski hitting critical shots in the fourth quarter.

With this win, the Warriors improve to 8-6 overall and remain competitive in the NBA Cup, proving that even in challenging times, they can rely on their superstar to deliver when it matters most.
