Get ready for a blast from the past this Halloween season as major fast food chains are rolling out nostalgic trick-or-treat buckets that will transport you right back to childhood.
McDonald’s is bringing back its iconic Boo Buckets on Tuesday, Oct. 21, continuing a tradition that first began in 1986. These playful plastic containers come in five different designs featuring slightly eerie faces - including an orange pumpkin, white ghost, green goblin, red zombie, and black cat. You can snag one with a Happy Meal priced around $4.99-$6.19, while supplies last.
Not to be outdone, Burger King has its own Halloween-themed trick-or-treat bucket complete with a Monster Menu that’s sure to catch your eye. Their bucket features anthropomorphic menu items dressed in spooky costumes, and comes alongside creative seasonal offerings like the Jack-O-Lantern Whopper on an orange bun with black sesame seeds, and Vampire Nuggets shaped like fangs and bats.
Dunkin’ is also joining the Halloween festivities with a black plastic bucket topped with a purple spider lid. Their seasonal bucket can be purchased alone for around $5 or filled with Munchkins for about $17.99. The donut chain is complementing the bucket with purple Spider Donuts and a unique Candy Bar Signature Latte featuring chocolate, toffee, pretzel, and peanut butter flavors.
These seasonal offerings aren’t just about food - they’re about capturing the playful spirit of Halloween and triggering nostalgic memories for millennials and Gen Z who grew up with these childhood treats. Whether you’re looking to relive childhood memories or just enjoy some festive fast food, these Halloween buckets offer a fun seasonal twist on your favorite quick-service meals.
