The Giants' Steph Curry Bobblehead Is a Hilarious Swing and a Miss

Bay Area sports fans got an unexpected laugh during Saturday’s Giants game when the team’s promotional Steph Curry bobblehead looked nothing like the beloved Warriors basketball star.
During the game against the Mets, the Giants distributed two different versions of a Steph Curry bobblehead to fans, but one particular version became an instant meme for its wildly inaccurate representation. The bobblehead, which was given to fans with more expensive tickets, bore such little resemblance to Curry that social media quickly erupted with jokes comparing the figurine to other NBA players like Rick Fox and Anthony Lamb.
The Giants have an explanation for the bizarre bobblehead: it was intentionally designed to match Curry’s depiction in a new graphic novel called “Sports Superheroes: Stephen Curry”. However, even in the graphic novel, the illustration looks more like Atlanta Hawks player Trae Young than Curry himself.
The team’s bobblehead mishap comes at a challenging time, with the Giants experiencing a three-game losing streak and a disappointing 2-7 record since the All-Star Break. The comically bad bobblehead might be the most entertaining moment for fans during a rough patch for the team.
For collectors and meme enthusiasts, the “not-Steph” bobblehead is already becoming a sought-after item, with some listings on eBay reaching nearly $60. Whether you see it as a collector’s item or a hilarious sports memorabilia fail, this bobblehead is definitely generating more buzz than the Giants’ recent on-field performance.
In true Bay Area fashion, fans are taking the bobblehead mix-up in stride, turning what could have been a disappointing promotional event into a moment of collective humor and social media entertainment.
