Get ready for a weekend of pure excitement in San Ramon as the Beer City Half Marathon and Howl-O-Ween festival descend upon City Center Bishop Ranch. This isn’t just another run-of-the-mill community event – it’s a vibrant celebration that blends fitness, craft beer, and adorable pet costumes into one incredible day.

Runners will kick off the festivities on Sunday morning with races ranging from 5K to a half marathon, winding through scenic routes near Annabel Lake and the Iron Horse Trail. The half marathon champion will be crowned with the prestigious Golden Growler, adding an extra layer of competitive spirit to the morning’s activities.

But the fun doesn’t stop at the finish line. Participants and spectators alike can dive into the Beer City Festival, a self-described “traveling beer circus” showcasing the best craft brews from the East Bay. Live music, games, and delicious food will keep the energy high throughout the day.

For those seeking an extra challenge, the “Beat the Beast” beer mile challenge promises chaotic entertainment. Participants must drink four beers while running a mile – a test of both endurance and stomach fortitude that’s sure to draw laughs and cheers from the crowd.

The event takes an adorable turn at 2 p.m. with the Howl-O-Ween pet parade. Pet owners are invited to dress their furry friends in Halloween costumes and strut through Alexander Square. With “haunted obstacle adventures” and a dedicated sniff patch, even the most discerning canine will find something to enjoy.

Jeff Dodd from Sunset Development emphasizes that these events are more than just entertainment – they’re about building community connections and creating lasting memories. From runners to beer enthusiasts to pet lovers, there’s something for everyone at this unique San Ramon gathering.

The festival runs from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday at City Center Bishop Ranch. Whether you’re a serious runner, a craft beer aficionado, or just looking to enjoy a fun community event, this is one weekend you won’t want to miss.
