The Golden State Valkyries just leveled up their game-day entertainment with Violet, a purple-feathered raven mascot that’s turning heads and breaking dance moves. Unveiled during Monday night’s game, Violet emerged from a giant purple egg placed strategically outside the Chase Center, creating buzz among fans and sports enthusiasts.

Violet isn’t just another run-of-the-mill mascot. Decked out in a Valkyries jersey, mini-skirt, and high-top tube socks, this anthropomorphic character brings serious athletic prowess to the sidelines. Her ability to perform splits, cartwheels, and back handsprings has already captured the internet’s attention, drawing comparisons to the New York Liberty’s mascot, Ellie the Elephant.

The mascot’s design is deeply rooted in Norse mythology, echoing the team’s Valkyrie namesake. Ravens in Norse legends symbolize knowledge, wisdom, and memory - qualities that resonate with the team’s progressive spirit. Violet’s debut coincides with the Valkyries’ solid performance this season, currently holding the seventh playoff spot with a 16-15 record.

Social media has quickly embraced Violet, with her Twitter account already amassing over 1,000 followers. During Monday’s game against the Connecticut Sun - which the Valkyries won 74-57 - Violet even participated in a playful halftime skit with Warriors backup center Quinten Post, demonstrating the team’s commitment to entertainment and fan engagement.

As the 2025 WNBA playoffs approach, Violet represents more than just a mascot. She embodies the team’s dynamic energy, creativity, and the growing excitement around women’s professional basketball. With her Muppet-like charm and impressive athletic skills, Violet is set to become a beloved symbol of the Golden State Valkyries.
