Bay Area metal icons Metallica are once again proving they’re more than just music legends – they’re community champions. The band is partnering with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive during their upcoming concerts at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, transforming their tour into a lifesaving mission.

On June 18, fans can donate blood at Levi’s Stadium from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with an additional opportunity at the Red Cross Blood Donation Center in San Francisco from June 16 to 20. For those who roll up their sleeves, there’s a sweet bonus: a limited-edition Red Cross X Metallica T-shirt.

The blood drive isn’t just a publicity stunt. The American Red Cross emphasizes the critical impact of each donation, highlighting how blood can help trauma victims, cancer patients, new mothers, and individuals with sickle cell disease. By leveraging their massive fan base, Metallica is turning their concert tour into a platform for community support.

This blood drive is part of the band’s ongoing M72 World Tour, which kicked off in April 2023. Fans can look forward to a unique concert experience – Metallica promises completely different set lists for their Friday and Sunday shows. Opening acts include Limp Bizkit and Ice Nine Kills on Friday, with Pantera and Suicidal Tendencies performing on Sunday.

For music fans and potential donors, making an appointment is easy. Simply visit redcrossblood.org/metallica to schedule a donation time. Remember that all attendees will need to go through Levi’s Stadium security, so arrive prepared.

With over 150 million albums sold and a career spanning decades, Metallica continues to prove they’re not just musical innovators, but social responsibility leaders. Their latest album, “72 Seasons,” accompanies this tour, further cementing their legacy as more than just a metal band.

Donate blood, rock out, and make a difference – the Metallica way.
