The San Francisco dining landscape continues to evolve with exciting new restaurant openings and innovative concepts that showcase the city’s vibrant food culture.

Chef Brandon Rice, known for his popular Mission District restaurant Ernest, is expanding his culinary empire with a new venture called Lawrence in SoMa. Taking over the former Alexander’s Steakhouse space at 488 Brannan Street, Rice is keeping details under wraps but has confirmed the project is in motion.

In the Mission District, chef Jonathan Young has soft-opened Sangria & Salt in the former Cha Cha Cha location. The Cordon Bleu-trained chef is maintaining some beloved menu items while introducing new dishes like smoked pork spare ribs, lechon asado, and cioppino.

The Marina neighborhood is about to welcome Super Mensch, a Jewish deli-inspired restaurant from Causwells chef-owner Adam Rosenblum. Opening on September 24th, the restaurant promises creative offerings like a classic pastrami on rye, house-made bagels, and surprisingly inventive cocktails such as a Bagel & Lox Martini and a Matzah Ball Soup Margarita.

Another intriguing addition is Wolfsbane in Dogpatch, a new venture from Lord Stanley’s Rupert and Carrie Blease. The intimate 18-seat dining room will offer a nine-course menu priced at $339 per person, promising a high-end culinary experience.

North Beach has also seen a new bar opening called The Lucky Spot, operated by Future Bars alum Barry John Walsh, offering a mellow neighborhood sports bar vibe with elevated cocktails.

These new restaurants reflect San Francisco’s dynamic and ever-changing culinary landscape, continuing to push boundaries and offer unique dining experiences that reflect the city’s innovative spirit.
