Get ready, Swifties! Taylor Swift is about to drop her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” and the anticipation is real.
The pop superstar revealed the album details through her website after a mysterious countdown timer expired at 12:12 a.m. Tuesday. While an exact release date remains under wraps, fans can expect vinyl editions to ship before October 13th.
Swift’s marketing team, Taylor Nation, dropped a cryptic TikTok slideshow featuring 12 images of the singer wearing orange, setting fans’ speculation engines into overdrive. A limited vinyl edition in “Portofino orange glitter” is already available for pre-order, adding to the intrigue.
Interestingly, the announcement coincides with a teaser from the “New Heights” podcast, hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason. A mysterious silhouette (presumably Swift) appeared in an orange-themed social media post, further fueling fan excitement.
This upcoming album follows her massive “The Tortured Poets Department,” which was released during her record-breaking tour that grossed over $2.2 billion across two years and five continents. It’s also significant because Swift recently regained complete control of her music catalog after purchasing her recordings from Shamrock Capital.
Fans might recall Swift’s ongoing project of re-recording her first six albums, a move initiated after Scooter Braun’s controversial purchase and sale of her early work. These “Taylor’s Version” releases have been more than simple re-recordings, often including new “vault” tracks and deeper artistic insights.
With four rerecorded albums already debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Swift breaking records as the woman with the most No. 1 albums in history, expectations are understandably high for “The Life of a Showgirl”.
