AI Clones: The Wild New Frontier of Digital Intimacy

Imagine an AI version of yourself that never sleeps, never gets tired, and can interact with fans 24/7. Welcome to OhChat, the provocative new platform blurring the lines between technology, celebrity, and intimate connection.

Former British model Katie Price has become one of the first high-profile creators to launch her own AI digital twin on the platform. Her avatar, named Jordan, can engage in personalized conversations, send voice notes, and provide on-demand interactions - all without Price lifting a finger.

The platform works by having creators submit 30 images and spend 30 minutes training a bot to mimic their personality. Subscribers can choose from tiered access levels, ranging from $4.99 for unlimited texts to $29.99 for VIP interactions. Creators like Price receive an 80% revenue cut from their digital clone’s interactions.

But the emergence of such platforms raises significant ethical questions. Researchers warn about potential emotional manipulation and the risks of users forming deep attachments to AI simulations. Eleanor Drage from the University of Cambridge’s Leverhulme Centre cautions that these technologies could create environments where humans are “completely left behind while still being exploited”.

OhChat’s CEO Nic Young sees a future where every creator will have a digital twin. “I can’t imagine a future where every creator doesn’t have a digital twin,” he states. The platform currently hosts 20 creators, including celebrities like Carmen Electra.

As AI continues to evolve, platforms like OhChat represent a bold new experiment in digital labor, intimacy, and personal branding. They challenge our understanding of connection, consent, and the boundaries between human and artificial interaction.

While exciting, these technologies demand careful ethical consideration to protect both creators and users in this emerging digital landscape.
